12 Review for the iHome iH9 Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPod (Black & White)
First of all, I love the website. I’ve been looking for a site like this for a very long time
It’s nice to have finally found it. I’ve got so many iPod accessories to rate. I can’t wait till you post more of my accessories on the site.
Now, let’s talk about my iH9:
It’s so easy to use and sooooo pretty. You see, looks are very important to me and that is exactly wha old me on the iH9. The iH9 is sooooo sexy! I’ve got the white one because they don’t make it in pink yet. But if they ever did, I would sooooo buy it in pink. But then, my iPod video is white, so it matches better when it’s white on white. The alarm clock works well, although I’ve not used it much.
Anyways, if you are really looking for a sexy-looking clock radio for your iPod, then you need to get the iHome ih9. It’s sooooo pretty and it works great.
The iH9 doesn’t seem to be available in Canada. Both FutureShop and BestBuy Canada seem to only be carrying the iH6. However, you can find the iH9 at Amazon.com but they no longer ship to Canada. Amazon.com will now redirect you to Amazon.ca. The only to currently get the iH9 in Canada would be with eBay
Worth noting: I emailed the company twice inquiring about the release of iH9BR in Canada — no reply. Finally, I gave them a call and was met with a forceful (almost angry, yikes!) “Hello” and a pretty rude woman on the other end. It seemed like she only knew how to say “No” and “No, not in Canada.”
If this in any way reflects the quality of technical support of this company … I think I will reconsider buying this player after all, or at least hope that it becomes available in Best Buy, Future Shop, etc.
I’m curious about anyone else’s experiences with this company.

This is the first time I bought anything from this website. I was under the impression that the iH9, as the iH8, would be compatible with the 2nd generation ipod nanos. Apparently, it seems that it isn’t. It seems that they have cut back on the compatibility from the iH8. Is this correct? Or is there something wrong with my unit? Looks like I really got my April Fool’s present.
Hi,
My name is Mr Mubarak and i will Like to make an Order of the iHome Ipod and i want to Know the price List as well as your terms of payment waiting to hear from you soon.
Please note that iPod Stuff Reviews does not sell iPod accessories! We simply allow iPod accessories owners the opportunity to rate and review their iPod accessories. iPod Stuff Reviews is a great website to use to find out what people think of a particular iPod accessory or for rating an iPod accessory that you own. But it is not a website for buying iPod accessories. We have various advertisers on our site that sell iPod accessories, but iPod Stuff Reviews does not and will never sell iPod accessories.
I have a couple minor complaints with the iHome IH9, let’s get those out of the way. First complaint: the AM reception, even with the external antenna isn’t great. With the antenna it is “OK” but without the antenna it is non-existent. My previous inexpensive AM/FM clock radio (with digital tuner) did a much better job with AM. Second complaint: I wish the volume wheel & adjustment wheel (top left, top right) were “grippy-er”. Laying in bed they are kind of hard to turn. Finally, with the iPod sitting above the clock it seems a touch funky and fragile, but I think it is probably fine - almost all the iPod clocks have this EXACT same design, so, I am just paranoid.
Now, for the things I like. The sound is really good. I don’t think it is an “auto-set” clock, but it came from the factory already set. Keeps good time (so far). Readout is super easy to read. There are 7 brightness settings to the display, including OFF, and it fast and easy to switch between them. The fall asleep to (radio/ipod/line-in) is great, the dual alarms to (buzzer/radio/ipod/ipod-playlist/line-in) is great. The fact that either alarm can be 7-day, 5-day (weekday), or 2-day (weekend) is fantastic. The remove is somewhat useful, I guess - haven’t used it much.
It is a touch pricey, I paid $90 - but I really love the features and sound. No plans to return it.
is this ihome compatible with the third generation ipod nano?
i’ve been hearing conflicting stories
I hope you can help…I have an IH3 alarm clock purchased from Target, I have just received a 3rd generation ipod nano for my birthday, but am contimplating returning it for a generation 4. Will this be compatible with my alarm clock??
Hi Jennifer. The docking system for all iPods does not change from generation to generation. This means that the 4G iPod should work with your IH3 alarm clock. However, you may have to get a mounting bracket from iHome to keep the 4G iPod nano in place. iHome has pretty good service and should be able to provide you with a mounting bracket for the iPhone 4G. You can check them out at http://www.ihomeaudio.com .

I bought an iH5 a couple of years ago and I was quite happy with it. After it broke, I decided to buy the iH9. It is honestly a great improvement. My biggest complaint with the iH5 was the night display. It was just too bright at night. iHome seems to have addressed this issue by making the backgound display darker and only illuminating the numbers. And quite frankly, I love it. Its this little modification that takes this clock radio from good to great. I absolutely love it.
